It is also the venue for the Scottish Heayweight Championship where the big boys see who can throw items such as the hammer, shot and weight, the furthest and highest.
One of the most physically challenging events for the heavyweights is the caber toss, which requires tremendous strength but also an element of skill and style. The thrower must not only lift and toss the cumbersome caber but it needs to land in as near a "twelve o'clock" position as possible to be in with a chance of winning.
